Torino president Urbano Cairo has insisted that it would take a fee of around £87m in order to prise away Andrea Belotti from Turin during the summer transfer window.

  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 23-year-old has propped up the United shortlist in recent days after it was confirmed that Antoine Griezmann would remain at Atletico Madrid for another season due to their ongoing transfer ban.

In a report on The Manchester Evening News, Cairo admitted that he is not keen on losing Belotti this summer but any foreign club could still pursue him by triggering his minimum release clause.

"I'm not thinking about selling Belotti. Belotti is my player, we only renewed his contract recently. Our objective is to keep him," Cairo said.

"After that, there is a release clause that would make me obliged to sell him, providing someone came in with €100m from abroad."

Belotti bagged 26 goals and seven assists for Torino last season as they finished ninth in the Serie A standings. He is now a regular with the Italian national side with three goals in eight outings.
