Juventus right-back Dani Alves could complete a switch to one of Manchester United and Chelsea, should he fail to receive a new extension with the Serie A holders.

  • The Brazil international currently has a year left on his present deal, but he is said to want an extra season with the Turin-based club.

According to EOL Esporte, Alves could place a transfer request this summer, if he is to be declined a fresh extension to his current contract.

Alves, 34, has continued to be a key performer despite his trailing age, and he recently guided Juventus to the Champions League final, where they were thumped by Real Madrid by a 4-1 scoreline.

Irrespective of this, his qualities have never been in doubt with both Manchester United and Chelsea monitoring his developments ahead of this summer's transfer window.

Alves could provide sufficient competition for places at both United and the Blues with Antonio Valencia and Victor Moses not particularly impressive with their defensive side of play.
