Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry has decided to part ways with German club Werder Bremen just a year after moving on from the Emirates.
The 21-year-old contributed 11 goals for the Bundesliga outfit during the previous campaign as they finished a respectable eighth in the league standings.
However, he has now decided to cut ties with Bremen after he activated an option in his contract which would allow him to pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere.
"Werder Bremen are indeed a special club and have surpassed my expectations. I was handed the chance to prove myself here and I am very thankful for it," Gnabry wrote on his Instagram account following his decision.
Gnabry has previously attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich but he is said to favour a move to Hoffenheim, where he could earn Champions League football with the promise of regular gametime.
The former Stuttgart graduate earned his Germany debut earlier last season where he bagged a sublime hat-trick in the 8-0 thrashing of San Marino in a World Cup qualifier.
