Leeds United ace on Huddersfield radar

Premier League newcomers Huddersfield Town are leading the pursuit of Chris Wood, who topped the Championship goalscoring charts with 27 last season.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Mikel Arteta confirms big injury boost for Spurs clash

  • The New Zealand international had largely struggled to make a fundamental impact over the course of his career, but he lit up last season with a nearly perfect display for Leeds United.

Despite this, the Yorkshire club failed to clinch promotion to the Premier League, and this has put them under threat of losing some of their key players during the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, the Terriers are plotting a £15m bid for Wood as they seek to offer him a return to the English top flight.

The 25-year-old has flopped in his previous spells with Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League, but he may have another chance to revive his career with newly-promoted Huddersfield.

Regardless of this, Wood has insisted that Leeds United would require continuity and stability in order to end their top-flight return, and this could see him stay put at Elland Road next season.
