Despite announcing his intentions to leave the club this summer, Riyad Mahrez has admitted that he may way still be a Leicester City player when the new Premier League season gets underway.

  • After just over three years with The Foxes, Mahrez released a statement at the end of last season explaining that he feels now is the right time to leave the club and will actively look for a new club.

Leicester City are said to have accepted the Algerian's decision but are also keen to keep hold of him. The 2016 Premier League champions will let Mahrez go, but only if their valuation of him, which is said to be in the region of £50 million, is met.

The club are in no rush to force a deal with any prospective buyers, with Mahrez still having three years to run on his current contract.

The skilful attacking midfielder has been linked with clubs including Monaco, Barcelona and Arsenal, although it is believed that no official approaches have been made. The Leicester Mercury reports that Mahrez, whilst still very keen to find a new club, has admitted "If I have to stay, I'll stay."
