Crystal Palace are once again on the lookout for a new manager

Crystal Palace approach former Manchester City manager

14 June 2017 - 13:19

Crystal Palace's search for a new manager has taken a new turn, with The Eagles now opening talks with a former Manchester City manager who is currently working in the Chinese Super League.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Manuel Pellegrini was last seen in the Premier League with Manchester City in 2016, when his contract was not renewed with the club after a three season spell at The Etihad.

Pellegrini is currently in charge of Hebei China Fortune in China, but Sky sources are saying that the Chilean would be interested in a return to the English top flight.

Crystal Palace have been without a manager since Sam Allardyce decided to leave the club at the end of last season, as he announced that he would no longer like to work in football.

Allardyce was only at Palace for six months, but his time at Selhurst Park was a success. The club were very much in a relegation battle when the former England manager was appointed, but he managed to guide them to safety and improve performances too.

Crystal Palace will be keen to appoint a new manager as soon as possible to allow plenty of time for new signings to be made and plans put in place to assure that the club performs much better next season.
