Liverpool reject Moreno bid

Moreno signed for Liverpool in 2014 for £12 million

Liverpool reject Moreno bid

23 June 2017 - 07:10

Liverpool have rejected an £11 million bid from Serie A team Napoli for left-back Alberto Moreno as they hold out in hope of a higher offer in the near future.

  • Chelsea have discussed move for Alejandro Garnacho
  • Spanish star has arrived in London to complete Arsenal transfer

  • Moreno is only seen as a backup option at Liverpool these days and the club are actively looking to sell him during this transfer window. The Telegraph reports that Liverpool value Moreno at  £15 million and believe that they will get that for him if they wait for further offers.

The majority of interest in Moreno appears to be coming from Italy, with both Milan clubs monitoring the situation along with Napoli. Elsewhere, Moreno's former club Sevilla are considering an approach for the player they sold three years ago.

The Telegraph adds that whilst Jurgen Klopp wants to add a new left-back to his squad, he will not do so until Moreno has been sold by the club.

If Moreno's valuation is not met and Liverpool refuse to lower their price, Klopp is said to be willing to keep him around for a further season in his backup role.
