Redknapp targets top 4

Redknapp targets top 4

08 February 2008 - 17:34

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has admitted he feels the club have a fantastic chance to qualify for the Champions League and oust Liverpool from the final Champions League berth. The top three have taken a pole position in the Premiership and there seemingly appears to be one extra spot up for grabs between four teams.

  • Arsenal linked with new shotstopper as backup to Raya
  • Juventus and Roma to battle for 20yo Arsenal star

  • Redknapp said: "The trouble is that five or six other teams are entitled to have that ambition as well.

"Everton, Aston Villa, Blackburn, West Ham even Spurs - despite their bad start - are all very strong.

"At the start of the season I would have said it was completely unrealistic. I really couldn't see anybody else but the usual teams being in the top four.

"But for whatever reason (Liverpool) now have no chance of the championship and if you had told me then we would be this close in points to them at this stage I wouldn't have believed you."
