Sevilla wanted Mourinho

Sevilla wanted Mourinho

12 February 2008 - 17:06

Sevilla chairman Jose Del Nido has confessed that the club wanted to bring Jose Mourinho to Sevilla but the club baulked at his £7.5 million contract demands.

  • Chelsea set to sign Crystal Palace star for £47m
  • Man Utd aiming to beat Liverpool to 25yo midfielder
  • "There was another solution that was Mourinho, that requested to us, through an intermediary, €10 million (£7.5m) gross,” Del Nido said on the club’s official website.

“We all trusted Jimenez. We understood that he was the one that knew the first team the most. It was the option for the next season. I am convinced that he will prevail in Seville.”
