Robson has been relieved of first team duties at Sheffield United eyefootball understands. Robson only took charge at Bramall Lane in May, nine days after the Blades' dramatic relegation from the Premier League on the last day of the season.
The news comes after Robson met club chairman Terry Robinson and plc chairman Kevin McCabe on Wednesday.
It is also understood that Robson did not attend training today.
The Blades currently sit 16th in the Championship.
