Arsenal eyeing deal for former Chelsea winger?

Arsenal have reportedly switched their attention to Juventus attacker Juan Cuadrado after admitting defeat in the pursuit of Monaco's Thomas Lemar.

  • The north London outfit had tried to pursue the services of Lemar on transfer deadline day, but the player was not keen on sealing a club-record £92m move.

Monaco are also understood to have influenced the Frenchman's decision following the departure of several key players, and according to TMW, the Gunners no longer hold an interest.

The report adds that the club have turned their focus to one of their long-term targets in Cuadrado, who has failed to nail a regular starting spot at Juventus.

Cuadrado had an unsuccessful six-month spell with Chelsea prior to his Old Lady move, and the Gunners are prepared to offer him a fresh challenge in the Premier League.

Juventus activated the buy option on his Blues contract to pursue him earlier in the summer, but they could not find any suitors to make an instant profit.

The Colombian spent two separate loan spells with Juventus from Chelsea before the club's hierarchy paid up a £17.3m fee to secure his permanent stay.
