Inter MilanĀ are reportedly ahead of Manchester United in the pursuit of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil. The Germany international has less than nine months left on his Gunners contract, and he has shown little desire to prolong his stay.
Jose Mourinho's United have been recently tipped to make a move for Ozil, but according to The London Evening Standard, the Nerazzurri are the front-runners for the World Cup winner.
Luciano Spalletti's side are said to be planning a winter approach for the Gunners contract rebel while the Red Devils are yet to make any sort of contact with the player's representative.
Both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez look likely to leave Arsenal at the end of the season, and the Gunners could be prepared to accept a cut-price deal for the former rather than losing both on free transfers next summer.
Ozil has yet to make an impact in the new Premier League season with no goals or assists to his name. He is currently recovering from a minor knee injury which has seen him miss league games against Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion.
