Kante, Morata could return for AS Roma clash

Injury News: Morata, Kante pencilled for AS Roma return

10 October 2017 - 11:09

Chelsea may have to do without both Alvaro Morata and N'Golo Kante for this weekend's Premier League clash at Crystal Palace.

  • Xabi Alonso makes Nicolas Jackson transfer decision
  • Chelsea want to sign wantaway Liverpool star
  • Morata sustained a hamstring strain during the Blues' 1-0 defeat to Manchester City prior to the international break, and he is likely to return for the Roma game in the Champions League, The Telegraph claims.

The Spain international has hinted via Instagram that he could make an early comeback for the league game at Selhurst Park, but Antonio Conte is unlikely to take a risk on a player, who just about avoided a serious injury.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports report that Kante will be heading back to Stamford Bridge to assess a similar kind of problem sustained on international duty with France versus Bulgaria.

The 26-year-old was walking uncomfortably following his hamstring pull, but the Blues are hopeful that he will return to the playing field against the Giallorossi.

Chelsea are already six points behind joint-leaders Manchester City and Manchester United atop of the table, and they face a must-win game versus bottom side Palace, who are still searching for their maiden goal and point in the top-flight this term.
