Juventus plan summer move for Emre Can

Juventus to wait until next summer to sign Liverpool star

14 October 2017 - 15:40

Serie A Juventus have reportedly withdrawn their plans of negotiating a winter deal for Liverpool midfielder Emre Can. The 23-year-old has just eight months left on his existing Reds contract.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Germany international was constantly linked with a move to Turin in the summer amid his reluctance to sign a new Anfield deal beyond June 2018.

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta recently admitted that a January approach could be an option for the former Bayer Leverkusen man, but according to Calciomercato, they will instead wait until next summer to sign him on a Bosman.

Can is currently on a weekly wage package of around £55,000-a-week, and he has no intention of signing an extension unless he is offered at least twice of his present salary.

The midfielder was recently part of the Reds' side which played out a 0-0 draw versus Manchester United on Saturday despite dominating large parts of the game. He has contributed two goals and two assists for Liverpool this term.
