Former Arsenal star, Ian Wright, has advised Theo Walcott to leave the Emirates stadium given the fact that his game time has seemingly become limited.
Walcott, 28, has featured nine times in all competitons for the Gunners this season, scoring three goals and assisting twice. However, despite his efforts, many members of the Arsenal fan base have been unimpressed with the Englishman's performances and he has therefore been subjected to widespread criticism.
The forward has spent 528 minutes on the pitch in total so far this campaign, but has only managed to accumulate 46 of those minutes in the Premier League, meaning a vast majority of his game time has come in the Carabao Cup and the UEFA Europa League, respectively.
Wright, who made 289 appearances for the club from Highbury, believes that the former Southampton man should consider his options and ultimately move on for his own good.
"I think so (that he should leave), for his own sake. I'm not sure where he can go now with Arsenal and he's only playing in the Carabao Cup and the Europa League."
Arsene Wenger signed Walcott from the Saints in January 2006 for a fee of £12 million, when you include add-ons, and he is currently the club's longest serving squad member.
But, regardless of the experience that the player brings to Arsenal's table, 53-year-old Wright believes that the Stanmore-born man should enjoy the latter stages of his career playing regularly elsewhere.
"He'll want to finish on a high in respect of what he's doing, he's given Arsenal great service in the time he's been there and for me he should move on for himself."
