Arsene Wenger sends warning to Manchester City

Wenger hoping to claim positive result vs City this weekend

Arsene Wenger sends warning to Manchester City

30 October 2017 - 18:05

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has claimed that it is normal for Manchester City to be deemed as favourites for the Premier League title, but they will have to be stopped at some point.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Pep Guardiola's side have won nine and drawn one of their 10 league outings this term, and this sees them at the top of the Premier League standings with 28 points.

The Gunners travel to Manchester to take on the Citizens this weekend, and Wenger insists that the table-toppers will slip up at some point in the campaign.

"That's normal because at the moment they are on a good run and people extend always these good runs to the end of the season - but at some stage they have to be stopped," Wenger told reporters, as per ESPN.

Since the 4-0 thumping versus Liverpool in late August, Arsenal have maintained a good spell in the top-flight with 16 points attained from a possible 21.

Arsenal are currently just below the Champions League positions in fifth with 19 points, and Wenger will be determined to at least secure a draw when his side make the Etihad trip on Sunday.
