Hughton to join Newcastle

23 February 2008 - 10:20

Ex-Tottenham assistant manager, Chris Hughton, is set to become one of the coaches under Kevin Keegan to help Newcastle rise up in the Premier League table

  • Chelsea star to miss FA Cup final with hamstring injury
  • Joao Pedro makes Chelsea transfer decision
  • Hughton had been sacked in October together with Martin Jol after a run of bad performances, and it was Newcastle who finally took him up. Most people believe that he will replace Nigel Pearson who had left St James's Park when King Kev arrived.

As a coach Hughton served 14 years at Tottenham, working with 10 different managers and as a player he played in defence at White Hart Lane and earned 53 caps for The Republic of Ireland.
