  • Talks between the defender and United had begun as early as January, and it has now been confirmed that Argentine has committed his future until the summer of 2021, with the option of an additional 12 months.

"Since I joined Manchester United, it has been everything I thought it would be and more. I am extremely happy to extend my stay at this great club," Rojo is quoted as saying by the club's official website.

Rojo joined the Red Devils from Sporting under the tutelage of Louis van Gaal back in the summer of 2014, and he has since managed 105 appearances across all competitions.

The Argentine started his United career as a regular on the left side of the defence, but under Jose Mourinho, he has found himself playing a back-up role in the central defensive department.
