Juventus plot move for ex-Chelsea defender

16 April 2018 - 11:56

Juventus are reportedly weighing up an attempt to sign Felipe Luis from Atletico Madrid at the end of the season. The Brazil international is currently in his second spell with Atleti, having rejoined them from Chelsea during the summer of 2015.

  • According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady are monitoring his situation at the Spanish giants, and they could lodge an approach for his services during the summer.

Luis has been an influential player for Atleti since his comeback, and injuries this term have seen Lucas Hernandez grab his opportunity to impress on the left side of the defence.

Juventus are likely to lose the services of Kwadwo Asamoah on a free transfer in two months' time, and Luis is presumably seen as a probable replacement for the Ghana international.

Alex Sandro has been the preferred choice for Juventus in the left-back/left wing-back role, but his future also remains uncertain amid links with Manchester United.
