German World Cup winner hints at future Liverpool move?

09 June 2018 - 12:16

Germany international Mario Gotze has admitted that a move to Liverpool remains an option despite turning down a reunion with Jurgen Klopp a couple of seasons ago.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The World Cup winning attacker had been tipped to reunite with Klopp during the summer of 2016 but he decided to rejoin Borussia Dortmund from Bayern Munich instead.

Since then, the 26-year-old has struggled to impress for Dortmund on a regular basis due to health issues and a loss of form but he is supposedly open to a future move to Anfield.

"I decided to leave Bayern and Jurgen Klopp was interested in getting me to Liverpool. I was also interested in working with him again - it's still existing. He is a world-class coach and that's why it's always an option," he said in the documentary 'Being Mario Gotze'.

Gotze was recently left out of the Germany squad for the World Cup finals in Russia and the attacker needs to revive his old form in order to reclaim his national team spot in the future.
