Rojo on the move?

Marcos Rojo eyeing summer exit from Old Trafford

13 June 2018 - 12:21

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is reportedly keen to push for an exit from Old Trafford despite signing a fresh three-year deal earlier in the year.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • The Argentina international committed his long-term future to the Red Devils back in March but this did not enhance his gametime towards the end of the campaign.

According to The Sun, Rojo is fearful over his first-team chances at United, should the club reach an agreement to sign Toby Alderweireld from league rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine managed just eight league starts for United during the recently concluded campaign and the arrival of a new centre-back could hamper him further with several other players vying for positions.

The likes of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly are all competing for places at the heart of the defence whilst Rojo faces a similar concern in the left-back spot where Ashley Young and Luke Shaw are ahead of him in the pecking order.
