Wayne Rooney close to DC United move

28 June 2018 - 05:50

Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney is close to a move from Everton to DC United in the United States, Press Association Sport reports.

  • Arsenal handed major boost on Odegaard for Newcastle trip
  • Enzo Maresca explains why Cole Palmer didn't face Newcastle

  • According to the report, there should be a confirmation of the move before the end of the week.

Last season, Wayne Rooney came back to Everton from Manchester United after 13 years at Old Trafford.

Wayne Rooney won numerous trophies with United that included five Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League in 2008.

New Everton coach Marco Silva is not eager to keep Wayne despite the fact that he scored 10 league goals for the club last season, making him the Toffees' top scorer.

It is no surprise that Everton or other big clubs are not looking to add Rooney to their squad because he has really slowed down in terms of what he contributes on a consistent level.

Unlike the likes of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes in their playing days at United, Rooney has failed to keep his performance up after entering his 30s.
