French Ligue 1 champions Lyon have revealed that they approached Jose Mourinho shortly after the Portuguese boss left Chelsea. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas' personal adviser Bernard Lacombe revealed an approach was made.
"I know that the president approached him (Mourinho)," said Lacombe.
"But the talks didn't go very far. Mourinho was in need of some rest."
There have been several suggestions that Barcelona have lined up Jose Mourinho as the long term successor to Frank Rijkaard at the Nou Camp, whilst AC Milan are also rumoured to be after Mourinho should Carlo Ancelotti fail to secure trophies this season.
