Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira has said that he will have his club future resolved in the near future now that Uruguay have been ousted from the ongoing World Cup.
The South American nation bowed out of the tournament after a 2-0 quarter-final defeat to France and Torreira and his teammates are now expected to enjoy their respective vacations.
Speaking after the game, Torreira confirmed that he could have had an Arsenal medical during the World Cup but he did not want to lose his focus with the national team duties.
He added that his future will be 'very clear' in the coming days with Unai Emery's side said to have already agreed on a £26m deal for his services with Sampdoria.
"Yes, we could have done things differently, but I did not want to think about other things. The World Cup is important and being part of this squad meant a lot to me. But now I have more time my future will be very clear," he is quoted as saying by Metro.
Torreira is widely expected to become the Gunners' fourth recruit of the transfer window following the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos to the north London club.
