Manchester United could offload defender

Manchester United could offload defender

23 July 2018 - 07:03

Manchester could be set to offload Argentine defender Marcos Rojo in order to make room for Leicester City's Harry Maguire, according to Mirror Football.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • United are considering a £65m bid for Maguire but reportedly have to offload a defender to accommodate the England international.

United have already sold Daley Blind to former club Ajax but it looks like United are not done cutting down the number of the existing defenders at Old Trafford.

Rojo is currently away on holiday after crashing out of the World Cup with Argentina in the second round.

If United are to sell Rojo, it may not be a very wise decision because the former Spartak Moscow can also play as a left-back with Luke Shaw not yet reliable and Ashley Young ageing.

Rojo made only nine Premier League appearances last season and three for Argentina at the World Cup in Russia.

He scored the winning goal as Argentina defeated Nigeria by two goals to one to qualify from group D after being close to an embarrassing group stage elimination.
