Bayern speaks on Thiago transfer news

Bayern speaks on Thiago transfer news

25 July 2018 - 10:09

Bayern Munich chief-executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has poured cold water on the news linking midfielder Thiago Alcantara with a move away from the Allianz Arena, according to Manchester Evening News.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The former Bayern player has revealed that nothing has been said about the possibility of the former Barcelona midfielder leaving the Bundesliga champions.

Manchester United and Chelsea have made enquiries about the possibility of signing the Spanish midfielder ahead of the new season.

Despite signing Fred and giving Marouane Fellaini a new contract, United are still being linked with midfielders, with Thiago being the latest.

United have also been linked with Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos and Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinković-Savić.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are also in the hunt for a midfielder and have also been linked with Milinković-Savić, but the players €100m valuation may scare them away.

New boss Maurizio Sarri recently revealed that his side is lacking a bit of quality in midfield, explaining the Blues' move for Thiago in the transfer market.
