Chelsea are on the cusp of signing veteran goalkeeper Rob Green on a free transfer, The Sun reports. The 38-year-old has already arrived at the club's training base to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed transfer.
Green had initially been expected to retire from the game after his contract expired with Huddersfield Town but he has now been offered a surprise opportunity with the Blues.
The former England international is expected to become the club's third-choice goalkeeper for the upcoming campaign replacing Eduardo, who has been loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem.
Chelsea have endured a slow transfer window which has been delayed by the late appointment of Maurizio Sarri but they are expected to speed up the proceedings before the transfer deadline.
So far, Jorginho has been the club's sole signing in the transfer window but the incomings are likely to increase with a number of players being approached to make the switch to west London.
