Mourinho gives update on Darmian's future

26 July 2018 - 10:01

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said that defender Matteo Darmian wants to leave the club.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Sky Sports reports the former Real Madrid coach saying that the ex-Torino defender wants to leave Old Trafford and he implied that he would be allowed to at the right price.

Mourinho went ahead to say that there have been offers for the defender but they are not close to what can be accepted.

Inter Milan reportedly wants to bring the Italian international on loan but United want a permanent move. Other teams that are interested in bringing Darmian to Italy are Juventus and Napoli.

Darmian captained United as they defeated AC Milan on penalties in the International Champions Cup on Thursday morning.

With Darmian nearing an exit, and Antonio Valencia and new boy Diogo Dalot injured, United could have a right-back crisis in their hands if they don't get a replacement before the commencement of the season.

United who are currently on their pre-season tour will face Leicester City in their opening Premier League game on Friday, the 10th of August.
