Manchester United supposedly dispatched chief scout Martin Ferguson - Alex Ferguson's brother - to watch Espanyol's game in La Liga at the weekend to watch goalkeeper Idris Kameni.
The goalkeeper's contract expires next season and United are on the look out for a long term replacement for van der Sar. Barcelona are also reportedly interested in the Cameroonian who is valued at around 5 million pounds.
Ferguson himself has also monitored Kameni for over 2 years.
