Anthony Martial has decided to stay put with Manchester United beyond the current month after receiving the vote of confidence from the club's hierarchy.
A recent report suggested that Jose Mourinho wants the player out of Old Trafford before the transfer window closes across Europe but his desire has been dashed with the board having no ambition to sell the attacker.
According to The Sun, the Frenchman has been appreciative of the trust received from above and he is now prepared to fight for his first-team position under Mourinho's guidance.
Martial did not feature during the opening day win over Leicester City but he managed to start in the recent outing at Brighton & Hove Albion where United suffered a shock 3-2 defeat.
The 22-year-old did not receive much service during the course of the game but given Mourinho's reluctance to play him, it would not be a surprise if Marcus Rashford starts ahead of him during the Tottenham Hotspur clash on Monday night.
