Arsenal legend offered Bordeaux contract

Henry asks time to decide on Bordeaux job

Arsenal legend offered Bordeaux contract

23 August 2018 - 23:38

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has reportedly been offered a long-term contract to succeed Gus Poyet as the next head coach of Bordeaux.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Gunners favourite recently quit his punditry role with Sky Sports and he is now prepared to give his full dedication towards succeeding as a club manager.

According to Sky Sports News, the 41-year-old has been offered the opportunity to manage Bordeaux but he has asked a couple of days' time in order to make a decision over the role.

Bordeaux are currently without a working manager after Poyet was suspended last week for criticising the club's owners for the sale of strikerĀ Gaetan LabordeĀ to Montpellier without his permission.

His departure has been put on hold in recent days but he may not last beyond the weekend, should Henry give the green light to takeover the managerial reigns at Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.

Bordeaux have made a poor start to the season amid the recent absence of Poyet and they are presently rooted to the drop zone with zero points after two games played.
