Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly given the thumbs up to the club's decision to discuss a new long-term contract with Anthony Martial.
The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order under Mourinho in 2018 and he was most recently excluded from the squad for the visit of Spurs.
Despite this, Martial is said to be open to penning a new five-year contract with United and The Mirror reports that Mourinho has no issues regarding a probable extension.
Aside from Martial, United are also said to be planning fresh contract discussions with Spanish duo Ander Herrera and David de Gea, though the latter's stay remains one of their main priorities.
De Gea's present deal is due to expire at the end of the campaign and he is said to demand a 50 percent hike on his current £200,000-a-week wages to commit his long-term future to the club.
Should there be further delay, United may take up the option of an extension clause available in De Gea's contract to prolong his stay until the summer of 2020.
