Leicester City will reportedly make a fresh attempt to sign Danny Drinkwater when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The England international was deemed surplus to requirements after the summer recruitment of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic but he could not pursue a move before the transfer deadline.
Despite this, he remains open to parting ways with the Blues in the New Year and The Express reports that Leicester will once more come forward for his signature.
The east Midlands side were keen on securing a loan deal for Drinkwater this summer but they could not find a breakthrough before the August 9 deadline.
As a result, they are planning to come up with a renewed approach in January, though they are likely to face competition from both Southampton and West Ham United.
Drinkwater only joined the Blues from the Foxes in the summer of 2017 but he has since managed just five starts in the top-flight. This season, he has made just one appearance in the Community Shield.
