Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has backed David de Gea to be a success when called upon to feature for Spain again.
After Spain's second round exit at the World Cup in Russia, De Gea was criticised for his performances for the national side at the Mundial after having a great season with Manchester United last term.
"De Gea is a great goalkeeper and the goal is perfectly covered with him. The World Cup was how it was, we came back too early, but I don’t pay attention to polls or what people say," he said, Football.London reports.
Spain will face England and Croatia in the UEFA Nations League in this current international break before the various leagues resume next week.
In terms of goals conceded this season, De Gea has already shipped in seven from United's opening four league fixtures this term, but kept a clean sheet in United's last game against Burnley.
The former Atletico Madrid man cannot be blamed for the goals United have conceded this season as the defence have been abysmal in their display.
