Mourinho used Liverpool vs PSG game to advance Neymar chase

21 September 2018 - 07:31

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho used the UEFA Champions League clash between Liverpool and PSG to ‘open up channels of dialogue’ with Neymar's inner circle regarding a move, Don Balon reports.

  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?
  • Arsenal handed injury boost on defender ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Neymar featured for Paris Saint-Germain as they slumped to a 3-2 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in signing the former Barcelona man as he looks to take Manchester United back to the glory days.

The Brazilian had been linked with a move to Real Madrid during the last summer transfer window, but the Spanish club denied trying to sign the player.

PSG bought Neymar for a world record £198m from Barcelona in 2017, and as a result, luring the Brazilian will be expensive.

His form since his move to France has been superb, having scored 19 goals and provided 13 assists in his first season in Ligue 1.

He has started the current Ligue 1 season on a high, having scored four goals in as many games.
