Chelsea legend John Terry is set to become manager of the Blues' Under 23 side, replacing former coach Jody Morris.

  • Morris has left the club and joined former player Frank Lampard at Derby County.

According to the Sun, an £800,000-a-year deal has been agreed with the former England and Chelsea captain. Terry will take over when he completes his coaching badges.

Terry played for Championship side Aston Villa last season, and was close to a move to Russian side Spartak Moscow earlier this month before he decided against it.

Maurizio Sarri is open to the idea of Terry joining his coaching staff, and the former defender has revealed his ambition to become the Chelsea boss in future.

The completion of this move will give the multiple Premier League winner the chance to gain valuable experience and test his abilities as he looks to go far with his coaching dream.

Chelsea were in action in the Premier League over the weekend, playing a 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the late game.
