Newcastle after Diego?

Newcastle after Diego?

10 March 2008 - 23:30

Newcastle are considering an audacious summer transfer swoop for Werder Bremen playmaker Diego. Real Madrid have long been linked with a move for the Brazilian, but Keegan is believed to have made Diego a primary target.

  • Chelsea to make approach for Morgan Rogers?
  • Man Utd think they can beat Man City to £100m star
  • Valued at over £15 million by the German club, Newcastle certainly have the money to part with the player, but the player himself is unlikely to accept a move that may be considered a 'step down'.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been tracking Diego for some time, and Diego has admitted in the past that playing in the Premiership has long been a dream of his.

Diego only recently signed a new contract, but if an offer significantly large enough comes in to Werder, they are likely to let their star player leave.
