Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has reportedly decided to miss the Gunners' upcoming Europa League group stage game at Qarabag FK.
The Armenian was an unused substitute during the recent league game against Watford and based on this, he would have expected to make the away trip to Qarabag.
However, the ongoing politcial conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has meant that his countrymen are restricted from travelling to the other country and this has supposedly made him to stay put in north London.
According to ESPN FC, sport stars coming from those countries have been allowed to cross borders with special permission in the past but Mkhitaryan has decided against doing so with the fully backing of the Gunners.
Arsenal enjoyed a routine 4-2 win over Ukrainians Vorskla in the opening game of the Europa League and they should expect another comfortable win on the road, though Unai Emery should ring in the changes with the lengthy trip.
