Manchester City Pep Guardiola has distanced suggestions that the Citizens are looking into a future move for Paris Saint-Germain sensation Kylian Mbappe.
A recent report indicated that the Citizens could be prepared to pay a world-record sum in order to lure Mbappe from Parc des Princes with Raheem Sterling's future at the Etihad being under question.
However, speaking ahead of the Champions League game against Hoffenheim, Guardiola has dismissed those claims while citing that his side are never going to spend that much on a single player.
"That is not going to happen. Sometimes I don't understand where the news comes from. City aren't going to spend the money that Mbappe and PSG deserve," Guardiola said via The Mirror.
Sterling has been a consistent performer for the Mancunian giants over the past 18 months but his long-term future has been put into doubt of late, having stalled on a contract extension beyond June 2020.
