Arsenal could make a surprise move to sign Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez this summer, according to Fichajes.
The Gunners currently have multiple left-back options in the form of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior.
However, none of them have been consistent enough over the campaign and manager Mikel Arteta may want a fresh competitor at the club.
Gutierrez has had a superb season at Girona where he has registered two goals and six assists in the Spanish top-flight for.
He has also impressed with his distribution and ball recoveries. His attacking traits would suit the manager's playing style.
He currently has a release clause worth €40m in his contract and it is left to be seen whether Arsenal trigger the reported value.
A move for Gutierrez would probably mean that Zinchenko will be offloaded by the hierarchy before the next season.
The Ukrainian has fallen out-of-favour since the New Year and he could pursue a new challenge away from the Gunners.
