Newcastle eyeing cut-price deal for Arsenal goalkeeper?

18 May 2024 - 21:02

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in a cut-price deal at the end of the season.

  • Everton pushing to sign Chelsea striker for £30m
  • Juventus and Benfica want to sign Man Utd winger

  • The England international is currently the second-choice keeper for the Gunners following the arrival of David Raya on loan from Brentford.

Raya recently won the Premier League Golden Glove award for keeping the most number of clean sheets. He is expected to join on a permanent deal soon.

Amidst this, The Telegraph claim that the Magpies are keen on signing Ramsdale from the Gunners and they are willing to pay £15 million.

The news will come as a surprise for most Arsenal fans, considering the Gunners are said to value their shot-stopper at around £40m.

Ramsdale has been a regular on the bench for most of the campaign, but it would not make sense to lose him for such a low transfer fee.

Much has been said about Ramsdale's future at the club, but the Englishman has yet to reveal his desire to consider a new challenge elsewhere.
