Tottenham Hotspur intend to make winter move for French midfielder

03 October 2018 - 12:11

Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to make a winter attempt to sign Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain after the midfielder turned down a contract extension.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The France international presently has just nine months left on his existing deal with the Ligue 1 champions and he would be free to speak to overseas clubs when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to The Mirror, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bolstering his midfield ranks further in the New Year after a frustrating summer where the club were unable to make a single signing.

The north London giants are presently uncertain regarding the future of Mousa Dembele, who has yet to extend his contract beyond June 2019 and Rabiot could potentially end up as a straight replacement for the Belgian.

Dembele has been heavily tipped for a move to China since the summer and it remains to be seen whether he would be tempted to make the switch to the Far East where he would be assured nearly twice of his current wages.
