Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal reportedly interested in Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho.

  • The Daily Mirror claims pretty much all the Premier League’s big guns are keen on the 18-year-old after his rapid development with the Bundesliga side.

Sancho was handed his first Bundesliga start of the season over the weekend in the 4-3 win over Augsburg and he has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The former Manchester City man has scored once and grabbed nine assists so far this season in all competitions, and he has been catching the eye of scouts from England.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal are all understood to have tried to sign him before he left Manchester City for Dortmund for £8million in August 2017.

Borussia Dortmund have described Sancho as “one of the most exciting players in Europe” after he signed a contract extension with the German club until 2022 last week.

“We are very pleased Jadon Sancho, who is one of the greatest talents in European football, will definitely play at BVB,” said the Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc last week. “We are convinced we can help this very young player continue to develop his game and become a real asset for our team.”

Tottenham were apparently keen on Sancho as part of the deal that took Kyle Walker to Man City, while former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was also “desperate” to sign him.

Dortmund though are well aware of his potential, and having taken Ousmane Dembele’s No.7 shirt they believe he could command a fee in the same region as the Barcelona winger after he joined the Catalans for £120m in the summer of 2017.
