Thierry Henry off to losing start as Monaco manager

Poor start for Thierry Henry at Monaco

Thierry Henry off to losing start as Monaco manager

21 October 2018 - 17:52

Struggling Ligue 1 side Monaco lost yet again this weekend as Thierry Henry slumped to defeat in his first game in charge of the French side. The Arsenal legend, in his first managerial role since standing down as the assistant manager of Belgium, watched his side lose in an important game against Strasbourg.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • The newly appointed manager has a huge deficit to catch up to PSG at the top of the table, as Monaco have won only 1 game in their last 10 domestic outings so far this season.

Strasbourg romped to a 2-1 win against Monaco, leaving Thierry Henry looking despondent at the end of the game.

Goals from Adrien Thomasson and Lebo Mothiba gave Henry the worst possible start. Youri Tielemans gave Monaco hope with a last minute penalty, but it would not be enough for AS Monaco to return back to winning ways.

Henry, who signed a long-term contract with Monaco last week, will now be looking to chop and change his squad ahead of the club's midweek Champions League game against Club Brugge.
