Loris Karius to return to Liverpool?

30 October 2018 - 04:08

Struggling German goalkeeper Loris Karius could be set to make an early return to parent club Liverpool after Turkish side Besiktas reportedly informed the Anfield club that they no longer need the shot stopper's services.  Karius, who famously dropped a double clanger in last season's Champions League final, has failed to impress at the Super Lig side.

  • Karius had hoped to restart his career with a move to the Turkish capital but has been unable to impress the club's supporters and more importantly, the club's coaching staff.

Karius has continued his poor show of form with a number of errors since moving to Turkey, a situation that leaves his long-term career at the club heavily in the balance.

It is understood that Besiktas are hoping to allow the German to return to England half way through his loan come January and the club will instead pursue a permanent transfer deal for Liverpool teammate Divock Origi instead.

Karius has three and a half years remaining on his contract with Jurgen Klopp's side and is likely to be third choice goalie with a return to the Premier League.
