Barcelona failed to take any advantage of Real Madrid's shock defeat to Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday as they could only manage a 2-2 draw with La Liga minnows Almeria. Real Madrid remain on top of the table.

Barcelona was then reduced to 10 men in the 72nd when Gabriel Milito tripped up Juan Manuel Ortiz for his second booking.
