Tottenham Hotspur are said to have snubbed the chance to sign Michy Batshuayi on a temporary basis from Chelsea after the west Midlands side demanded excessive fees.

  • In the past hour, the Belgian has agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace ahead of his temporary switch, but things could have been quite different, had Spurs agreed to the Blues' transfer demands.

According to The Mirror, Spurs had approached to sign Batshuayi on a temporary deal for the season but they were put off after the Blues demanded an £8m loan fee compared to the £2m for other interested clubs.

Due to this, Mauricio Pochettino's side are understood to have dropped their interest in the marksman which has eventually paved the way for Palace to land his signature.

Batshuayi had a dreadful spell with Valencia on loan during the first half of the season where he managed just three goals from 23 appearances in all competitions.
