Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that Aaron Ramsey will be a big loss for the Gunners once his contract expires at the end of the campaign.

  • The Wales international had failed to sort out a contract renewal with the Gunners over the past year and this eventually convinced him to join Juventus on a pre-contract agreement ahead of next season.

Speaking to Laureus Sport, Wenger has acknowledged that Ramsey will be a loss for the north London side, given his ability to make regular runs from the centre of the park.

He said: "It will be a loss for Arsenal. I must say it will be an interesting move for Ramsey. You don't find many players today who can make midfield runs off the ball. It will be an interesting addition for Juventus."

Ramsey has been sidelined for the past few games with a knee problem but he could return for the second leg of the Europa League round of 32 against BATE Borisov which remains a must win after the shock 1-0 away defeat.
