Aston Villa: no Bosingwa move

Aston Villa: no Bosingwa move

19 March 2008 - 22:13

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has rejected rumours that the club are making a move for Porto defender Jose Bosingwa. O'Neill insisted that although they did once make a move for the defender, they are no longer interested in signing the player.

  • Chelsea want to sign Lyon star to replace Jadon Sancho
  • Arsenal want to bring Aymeric Laporte back to England

  • "We have made no bid whatsoever. It's not true," O'Neill told the club's official website.

"That doesn't mean we're not interested in players. I know this story is definitely a regurgitation because no one from Villa has spoken to anyone from Porto in the last nine months.

"This is a categorical denial from me; it's as simple as that because we haven't spoken to anyone."
