Lozano dreams of United move - Martinez

PSV star dreams of playing for Manchester United

30 March 2019 - 07:58

Pachuca president Jesus Martinez has revealed that Manchester United have been scouting Hirving Lozano since the age of 16 and the Mexico international holds the ambition of playing for the Premier League giants.

  • Arsenal make surprise decision on Viktor Gyokeres
  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?

  • The Red Devils have been regularly keeping tabs on Lozano during the current campaign and reports have indicated that he is one of the prime targets to bolster the right side of the defence.

Speaking to ESPN Deportes, Jesus acknowledged that United hold a long-term interest in the Mexican and the same dates back to his time at former club Pachuca.

He said: "What I can say and guarantee is that Hirving has had a Manchester United scout watching him since he was 16. They have his whole record. They have everything: videos, goals, behaviour, qualifications."

"They are one of the clubs with the best scouts and professionals in that area. My ultimate dream would be to see [Lozano] at United and Hector [Herrera] at Atletico Madrid. It would be my dream and theirs."

Lozano is currently in the ranks of Dutch side PSV Eindhoven whom he joined from Pachuca in the summer of 2017. He was the subject of interest from several high-profile clubs last summer after a successful World Cup showing but PSV were adamant that he was not for sale.

Their transfer stance is, however, expected to change at the end of the season and reports indicate that a fee of around £40m could convince them into sanctioning the attacker's sale. Lozano has scored 19 goals for the Dutch giants this campaign.
